This month Bundaberg case manager Lauren Redgard has gone on maternity leave to welcome her new baby Boy. To case manage clients in her place is Amanda Ricardo.

Amanda, formerly a support worker for CentacareCQ, relocated to Bundaberg from the Gold coast and is currently training with Lauren and Lorene to learn all the programs and procedures.

Amanda is enjoying getting to know the clients and she is looking forward to working with and meeting you all.

In other news, the Home and Yard Maintenance team has been providing a full range of services now that the Electrician and Plumber have settled into servicing our Bundaberg clients.

The Carpenters have welcomed the addition of our two CentacareCQ Occupational Therapists, which will provide a high level of personal interactive modifications to our Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Assist Secure (HAS) clients.

The Yard Teams are running flat out to keep up with the intermittent rain and heat to maintain the Bundaberg client’s homes.

The Home Assist Secure (HAS) program is available to people living in their own home or rented that are 60 years and over and hold a Government pension card.

HAS is a Queensland government-funded program that really helps people stay in their own home as long as possible by providing $500 of labour cost to help with home security and safety issues.

If you know someone that meets the criteria and needs help to maintain their home please call the office and discuss the eligibility.

The support worker team, continue to do a great job to assist clients in their activities of daily living at our Bundaberg site.

With the growth in client services, we have several new support workers who have joined the team, and in doing so will ensure we continue to deliver quality services to the clients in the Bundaberg region.
