Social group activities cancelled for at least four weeks

CentacareCQ is successfully adapting our processes to ensure we can continue to provide the majority of our essential services. Unfortunately with immediate effect, and based on Health Department advice, it has become necessary to cancel all of our Social Group Activities.

CentacareCQ has reviewed the advice provided by the Department of Health which has implemented new restrictions on non-essential gatherings and visits to vulnerable groups. These restrictions have been implemented for a 4 week period commencing immediately. Because of this advice we have suspended social group activities at all sites and the CentacareCQ team has commenced notification to clients.

This decision is very disappointing given the significant safeguards we have put in place to protect clients in these programs. However it is understandable and the socially responsible thing to do to protect our clients, many of whom are over the age of 70 and have other health considerations.

At this stage we are unsure when we will be able to re-commence our much-loved group activities, but will provide updates as we get them via this website and our Facebook page.

We are truly sorry to have had to take this action, but the health and safety of our clients is CentacareCQ‘s primary concern. We will of course be back with a full schedule of social and group activities once it is deemed safe to do so.
