Growing groups in Blackwater

BLACKWATER social group activities are thriving each month with increasing numbers and a variety of fun group outings on offer.

Tommo tucks into a delicious Valentines Day lunch.

From Emerald shopping trips, pub lunches, sausage sizzles, mystery tours to centre based activities and many more, our Blackwater group clients enjoy each social outing and keep coming back for more.

CentacareCQ Blackwater social group program caters for eligible members of our community of any age.

The groups are tailored to empower clients who may have become socially isolated to re-engage and build new social contacts and networks.

By offering a diverse range of leisure experiences, CentacareCQ enables participants to make choices and decisions to suit their individual needs and interests.

Activities on offer include:
Centre Day Groups
Our Centre Day based groups includes various activities as see below: (held at various times at the Blackwater CentacareCQ office).

Arts and Craft Group
Various art and craft activities – morning tea is served. Arts and crafts and other creative projects can help alleviate boredom and keep your mind busy, and may even help prevent feelings of depression. Arts and Crafts help with hand-eye coordination, cognitive abilities, and concentration.

Picnics
Various locations/venues (weather permitting). Barbecue at Bedford Weir or any other stunning parks around Blackwater or Emerald. Some picnic locations include – Emerald Parklands/ Fairbairn Dam/ Emerald Botanic Gardens/Duaringa – information centre.
